Already have the recording? Clean it instead of re-recording it.
DemoRefine is a Screen Studio alternative for teams that already have a rough screen recording and want AI post-production without spending time on a traditional video timeline.
Screen Studio is a recorder and editor. DemoRefine starts after recording.
Screen Studio is a polished macOS screen-recording product with automatic and manual zoom controls, editing timelines and an integrated capture workflow. It also supports creating a project from an existing MP4, although its own documentation notes that imported videos do not have every capture-time feature available. DemoRefine is narrower: it is built around the recording you already made, regardless of which supported recorder produced it.
That difference matters when your main problem is not capture quality but take quality. You may already have a ten-minute recording with the right explanation but a few wrong turns, long pauses and messy cursor paths. DemoRefine focuses on identifying those behavioral problems and presenting a cleaned version for review.
Compare the original behavior with the AI-cleaned take.
Original remains available
Review the raw recording at any time. DemoRefine does not overwrite the uploaded source.
AI changes are explained
Fix Cards describe trimmed hesitation, semantic cleanup and visual polish in plain language.
Every review fix is reversible
Use the AI fix or keep the original behavior, then export the corresponding HD result.
Upload → review → export.
Upload
Bring an existing MP4, MOV, WebM or M4V. No need to recreate the workflow just to get access to an editor.
Review
AI analyzes the sequence and groups changes into reviewable suggestions instead of exposing dozens of timeline edits.
Export
Generate the HD result from the exact same Fix decisions you approved in the preview.
Designed for the cleanup work that happens after a rough take.
Dead-time cleanup
Shortens safe pauses without blindly compressing every quiet interval.
Hesitation cleanup
Reduces exploratory movement around the action the viewer actually needs to see.
Wrong-path recovery
Detects reversible patterns such as wrong tab → return → correct tab when the visual evidence supports it.
Typing correction cleanup
Can reconstruct a clean typed result from states that appeared in the source recording.
Cursor smoothing
Rebuilds cleaner cursor movement around committed actions while protecting drag and selection behavior.
Intent-aware focus
Adds camera emphasis around important UI actions instead of zooming simply because the cursor moved.
Keep your capture workflow separate from your cleanup workflow.
Screen Studio's integrated experience is useful when you want to record and edit inside one macOS product. DemoRefine is useful when the recording comes from somewhere else or already exists. That can include native OS recorders, browser capture tools, meeting software or other dedicated recorders. The Private Alpha accepts common video formats and analyzes the pixels and behavior in the recording itself.
Choose based on where the friction is.

Screen Studio alternative questions.
Can I use DemoRefine if I recorded with Screen Studio?
Yes, if you have a supported exported video file. DemoRefine works on the video you upload rather than requiring capture inside DemoRefine.
Does DemoRefine replace Screen Studio?
Not for every workflow. Screen Studio combines recording and editing; DemoRefine is currently focused on automated post-production of rough existing takes.
Why no timeline?
The product is deliberately designed around AI review. The goal is to reduce editing decisions, not move those decisions into another timeline interface.
Is DemoRefine free?
Private Alpha access is currently free while quality and limits are validated. See pricing for the planned structure.
Already have the take?
Upload it and see whether AI post-production can remove the editing work you would otherwise do manually.
